LEXUS LFA

LEXUS LFA

There’s something slightly weird about this scene. We are about to drive LEXUS LFA the daunting 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife track in Germany. In a LEXUS LFA. Okay, it’s the exotic LFA, a Ferrari-fighting supercar that will cost about $350,000. But the company built its reputation on smooth, refined, and perfectly nerve-calming cars, so why does the LFA exist? In what parallel universe is this thing remotely LEXUS LFA-like?
LEXUS LFA claims multiple justifications for the LFA program. The car, it says, casts a halo over the Lexus F line of performance machines. It’s also a way for Toyota to explore new technologies, particularly carbon-fiber construction. And since LEXUS LFA says it will be selective about whom it will sell to—car collectors and high-profile individuals who use the car rather than park it—the LFA should raise the cachet of the brand as a whole

For all that marketing happy-talk, the 2012 LEXUS LFA is a serious outlier in the Lexus lineup and has had a convoluted gestation. The program started in 2000, and LEXUS LFAshowed the first concept car at the Detroit auto show in 2005. Next, a convertible version appeared at Detroit in 2008, though it has since been canceled. In the interim,LEXUS LFA prototypes were spotted testing at theNordschleife, and further, two race-prepared carsentered the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 2008 and 2009. But until now, the company hasn’t said anything about production intent. LEXUS LFA is finally ready to admit that a mere 500 will be made, with production starting in December 2010.

NISSAN GTR

NISSAN GTR

Three years ago, NISSAN GTR made a decision to bring back the revered GT-R for another generation of production. NISSAN GTR also promised that the GT-R would be a world-class supercar, capable of competing with the very best that the world had to offer. NISSAN GTR promised that the car they delivered would be the start of a series of mind-blowing cars that would be sold under the GT-R nameplate. Three years down the road and NISSAN GTRhas just delivered on its last commitment with the heavily revised 2012NISSAN GTR.
Nissan provided a couple of sample 2012  NISSAN GTR in full US specification, for the media to play with. NISSAN GTR aftermath of this media introduction were dropped jaws and sore necks, generally the resulting from the numerous. The NISSAN GTR 2.7 second 0-60 mph blasts. The sore neck part was actually something that NISSAN GTR engineers took into consideration. NISSAN GTR actually devised a limit of 4 consecutive launches per every 1.5 miles of casual driving and justified their actions by citing wear and tear on the drivetrain and the occupants neck.

NISSAN GTR

The 2012 NISSAN GTR's official specs have been public knowledge for several weeks now. NISSAN GTR engines power increases to 530 from 485, and the torque grows to a stout 448 ft-lbs, up from 434 ft-lbs. NISSAN GTR was even talk of the aerodynamics producing a whopping 10% more downforce yet offering a superior drag coefficient of.26.
Inside, the 2012 NISSAN GTR definitely seems to be more in line with its $89,000 base price, for the first time. The 2012 NISSAN GTR sports improved interior materials, similar to the ones found on various Infiniti models. The gauges are better lit and the colors of the dials and interior trim are more pronounced. NISSAN GTR seats are aggressively bolstered and just as comfortable as before. The 2012 NISSAN GTR also benefits from better chassis rigidity and can actually withstand an astonishing 11,000 lbs of stress.NISSAN GTR increased rigidity results in a better on road feel with slightly less road noise.
There are numerous suspension modifications in the 2012 NISSAN GTR such as an increased front caster that grows to 6 degrees. NISSAN GTR also modified the rear suspension to improve its weight distribution and lower the center of gravity for the car.

FERRARI FF

FERRARI FF

FERRARI FF

If the idea of a 651bhp FERRARI  FF you can drive across a ploughed field strikes you as faintly ridiculous, then perhaps a FERRARI  FF you can drive to a ski resort seems less so. In fact, you won't be allowed into Gstaad next year if you haven't got an FERRARI  FF.
"Snow is new for us," says Franco Cimatti, FERRARI  FF technical director. Early testing on a 599 mule packed snow into the transmission coolers in front of the rear wheels, with predictable results. "We have had to change the shape of Ferrari," he says.
